River Restoration on The Yeading Brook
FiveRivers is pleased to be working with Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and the London Borough of Hillingdon again, this time on the Yeading Brook at Queens Walk, which successfully received funding as part of the Water Restoration Fund.
The Yeading Brook at present is over deep, with high banks which have become disconnected. FiveRivers is delivering detailed river restoration designs and obtaining FRAP consent from the Environment Agency. Our design ideas are to re-naturalise the river channel includes re-meandering and bank regrading of a 120m stretch.
As part of our detailed designs, we are also conducting a PEA, topographic surveys and land testing.
Recently members of our design team, Ellie Norton-Jones and Ebony Last, visited site to meet with the client to discuss and see the main stressors on the brook, as well as reviewing design opportunities and constraints.
This project extends our work on the Yeading Brook having previously delivered river restoration designs at Spider Park on the Yeading Brook, working with ZSL and Hillingdon Council in 2024.
This photo was taken of the work delivered at Spider Park earlier this year, which is looking great.
