FiveRivers have been commissioned by Southern Water to conduct environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling as part of a Stillwater fish survey.

All living things leave DNA in the environment, and eDNA sampling provides a holistic view of the species inhabiting our lakes, ponds and rivers.

Fish are an excellent indicator of a waterbody’s health, and this particular sampling method provides many benefits such as finding hard to detect species, efficient surveying of large areas, and increased accuracy and consistency. eDNA sampling compliments traditional monitoring methods to provide comprehensive species data.
