Whiteknight Lakes Repairs
FiveRivers has recently completed repair works on behalf of University of Reading at their Whiteknights Lake.
The lake, classified as a reservoir (due to the lower section being an artificial body which retains water), had a survey and report completed by Jacobs outlining the required repairs.
Our works included:
ð Prior to works commencing on site, we obtained a Land Drainage Consent (LDC) from Reading Borough Council.
ðŠī The installation of two 6m rockroll structure on the most downstream part of the lake at the outfall, with replanted coir pallets, to increase durability.
ð· At the middle to lower lake section, we completed a temporary pipework diversion at the outfall before we commenced the repair and maintenance works. These works were to prevent future erosion, and only as a temporary fix.
ð· At the upper section, we completed minor brick work to repair the weir.
We worked collaboratively with our sister company 5R Civil Engineering to deliver this multi-disciplinary project, providing an efficient and effective solution for our client.
