FiveRivers and Southern Water

Framework Extension with Southern Water

FiveRivers are pleased to announce the 4-year extension of our partnership with Southern Water on two AMP7 supplier frameworks (Catchment Management; and Studies and Investigations Framework), now extended to a further 4 years into 2028.

The framework includes a diverse series of projects and services spanning across various catchments within the Southern Water region, support with their environmental remit on WINEP and capital schemes. Our teams have been supplying our expertise in design and delivery of ecologically focused river and wetland enhancement and restoration, survey and assessment of aquatic ecology, surface water quality and quantity.

To date, this framework has seen significant progress. We have successfully completed large programmes of baseline aquatic assessment, fish rescue & removals, ecological surveys, and completed the design and construction of 6 significant projects. Notable amongst these include the restoration of Lukely Brook, contributing to a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the brook’s ecological landscape, and implementing a design and build project at Lewes Winterbourne, enhancing flow dynamics to enrich the chalk streams biodiversity.

FiveRivers’ Director of Natural Capital, Tom Grayling said, “Our teams have delivered a broad range of interesting projects since 2020, and everyone at FiveRivers is extremely proud of how this extension provides recognition for all our hard work and quality outputs. We have enjoyed working with the teams at Southern Water and are committed to continued provision of our specialist services which contribute to environmental objectives, protecting and enhancing our natural capital and the ecosystem services they provide.”

Beyond project delivery, we actively engage in strategic catchment investigations and assessments to support Southern Water’s objectives. Our expertise extends to providing guidance on in-field mitigation measures, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable water management practices.
