FiveRivers has secured a place as a key supplier on Thames Water River Restoration Framework

Thames Water River Restoration Framework Success

We are extremely pleased to announce that FiveRivers, in partnership with The Rivers Trusts, has secured a place as a key supplier on Thames Water River Restoration Framework – focusing on river habitat improvement elements of their Water Industry National Environment Program (WINEP).

The framework, spanning over 2-years, is construction only for delivery in the AMP7 cycle. We are looking forward to the opportunity to deliver these restorative and improvement schemes using our inhouse team of experts in our construction teams to enhance the river networks within the Thames Water Region.

Works are likely to include weir removals and/or modifications, channel bed re-profiling, riverbank re-profiling, replacing banks with softer natural options, fish passage and rock ramps and in-channel gravel installation.

FiveRivers is one of four contractors who were successful on this framework. The tender process involved showcasing competencies in technical output and commercial awareness, and we are delighted to have scored highest in several areas.

Speaking about this achievement, Martin Whitfield our Managing Director said ‘we are looking forward to continuing our working relationship with Thames Water delivering further schemes across their region. Our place on this framework adds to our portfolio of AMP7 WINEP delivery we have with Anglian Water, Southern Water and Affinity Water. The framework for Thames Water aligns with FiveRiver’s mission to deliver innovative nature-based solutions to protect and enhance our natural capital.’

Thames Water and FiveRivers have previously worked together as part of the AMP6 programme with all of our business units, Monitoring, Design and Construction, working closely together and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship over the coming years.
