Green Jumper Day

Our employee led focus group, The Peat Boggers, promote education within FiveRivers, by hosting internal Lunch and Learn sessions on the company’s sustainability strategy, targets to achieve by 2025 and how we can make a difference.

As part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint and build a sustainable future, The Peat Boggers are promoting the initiative of Green Jumper Day.

Green Jumper Day is an opportunity to dress in your favourite green jumper (if you don’t have a green jumper then a green hat, scarf, anything green) in aid to raise awareness around climate change and educate the younger generation on Friday 26^th November 2021.

We’ll need this green jumper, as we will be turning the heating down for the day, we will be doing this at our Head Office and urging home workers to do the same.

We will also be raising money on Friday; the donations will be used to plant trees and educate the next generation about the importance of mitigating climate change. To donate please follow this link to the Green Jumper JustGiving page.

We have an extensive education plan for 2022, not just for the younger generation, through school activity days, teaming up with local wildlife and rivers trusts and thought leadership pieces. Our next focus is on Rivers and Biodiversity Net Gain – check back at our news page to read this.
