River Restoration WINEP Award for Thames Water

FiveRivers is delighted to announce that our specialist environmental consultants and habitat restoration teams will continue supporting Thames Water with the delivery of their Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), with the recent award of two design and build river restoration schemes on the Hogsmill and Sulham Brook, totalling an expected £2million.

Spot flow gauging and velocity testing at a fish pass

At the end of last year our Principal Hydrometry and Telemetry Consultant, Adam Nicholas, attended one of our active construction sites to perform spot flow gauging and a velocity test upstream of a syphon and a newly constructed fish pass completed by our FiveRivers team.

Chamber Mead Wetland Creation

The scheme involved the diversion of Green Lanes Stream adjacent to Chamber Mead meadow through a newly natural wetland system comprising of a sediment trap, two wetlands (spanning 2,000m2) and connecting the new 120m channels before joining the Hogsmill River, downstream of the original confluence. The project was focused on improving the water quality of the stream whilst simultaneously improving the open space within the popular local nature reserve.

Rainworth Water Restoration Project Update
